One thing I thought was neat about Mass Effect 2 (I think?) was the fact that there were models of the two Normandy ships in Shepard’s bedroom, and you could actually see the size difference between the two.

Both the first and second generation Normandy ships are just good SciFi ship designs. Years later they still hold up really well from a design point.

They’re just good.

Shepard’s model ship obsession was, all at once, a fun character quirk, a decent way to frame an in-game collectable, and a major aid in moving actual physical models of Mass Effect ships to players.

And yeah, making Shepard’s Normandy models to scale was a nice touch, even if - for obvious reasons - most of the rest of the collection was not.

Yup, it’s an iconic design—I just wish they’d given the SR2 the SR1's paintjob for Mass Effect 3, instead of all that blue.

Yup, Enterprise B. They’re all there except the C, the JJPrise, and I guess the J?

I’d like to find a decent pre-made C model, but I’m not really fussed about the J, and I actually already own a JJPrise, but refuse to put it anywhere where I can actually see it, lest the unreasonable rage I feel whenever I think about those films take me by surprise.

I always thought the C was awesome looking. When netflix finally put the HD versions of TNG up,“Yesterday’s Enterprise” was the first one I watched.

Completely forgot about the J. Could’ve done without being reminded, haha.

They do sell an Alliance SR-2, and I think it’s slightly bigger. I prefer the Cerberus version, personally, but only ‘cause I’m not the greatest fan of Mass Effect 3. What I’d really like is an SR-2 painted in the SR-1's silver, black and red.

He’s great—I particularly love this dramatic reading of the Commander Shepard Song.

Jennifer Hale will always be Shepard to me, though, even if I do sometimes play dudeshep for the sake of romancing Tali, who is Best Girl(TM).

Let’s make sure history never forgets... the name... Enterprise !

It’s not my favourite, but I do like the way it bridges the Constitution and Galaxy-class aesthetics so effectively—it helps establish a clear in-universe design lineage.

And yah, most people forget the J, with good reason. Thankfully, the nature of Enterprise’s dodgy timelines means it can be ignored should they want to make a series about an NCC-1701-J at some point.

Yeah, I’ve seen pictures of that—it was a pretty good costume, too.

(Gotta love that Shepard/Samara shipping. I’m pretty sure that’s the actual model for Samara cosplaying her, too.)
